Am I eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship?

What happens after my application is approved?
Once your application is approved, you’ll take part in a citizenship ceremony, either in person or virtually, where you’ll take the Oath of Citizenship. After becoming a citizen, you can apply for a Canadian passport to enjoy the full rights of citizenship.

Can I apply for Canadian citizenship if I have spent time outside of Canada?
Yes, but you must meet the physical presence requirement of at least 1,095 days in Canada over the past five years. Some time spent outside of Canada may count if you were a permanent resident accompanying a Canadian citizen spouse, or working with the Canadian Armed Forces.
